Birgitta Ohlsson, former chairperson of the Liberal Youth of Sweden part of  Liberal People’s Party has been made Sweden’s new EU – minister. A while ago I learned that there were many people opposing or criticizing Reinfeldt’s choice as EU -minister. Apparently she is pregnant. And that is why so many people are wondering what will happen…

But this only makes me want to question everything even more, usually a woman chooses not to revel their pregnancy until the end of the first trimester. So why was this not followed !? Would the same thing have happened if for instance Birgitta Ohlsson would have been a man? Why is not men involved in politics questioned based on the same terms if they are an expecting father? I find this image a bit wrong… Is it only women that are capable of caring for an infant? What suddenly happened to equity? I thin it is better for a child if both parents are equally involved or if the father is more involved than general. And lastly what happened to the restrictions that clearly states that employers are prehibited from asking women reproduction questions?

Is Swedish politics one of these exceptions?

Swedish equity has not gone that far, at least not if you consider Swedish politics. I thought Sweden was one of the most modern societies, especially a place where it would be possible for women to work while being pregnant or could chose between maternity leave or continue working after labour. Turns out I was wrong- woman, politician and pregnant? Apparently this is not socially accepted, yet it does not surprise me because many employers still ask women if they are pregnant, plan on having children soon or have small children… What!?

Why should female politicians be an exception to this rule ? Why is it so upsetting a female politician accepts a high position in politics while being pregnant?

Meanwhile Pagrotsky has stated that he no longer has the same interest to remain in politics.

I know it might seem like I am critical towards adoption and that is of course true yet I do realize that in many of these Asian nations there are a very different culture and religion. Could I really say for sure that I would be able to act in a differing way and still keeping my beliefs even I lived in China or Japan? The answer to that question is no because China, Japan and Korea have very different religious beliefs to start with. In that aspect these countries seem very similar apart from Christianity the other major religions in China are Taoism, Buddhism and Judaism. Japan have three major religions which are shinto, Buddhism and Confucianism.

Korea is a separate case as the Korean peninsula has been divided into two separate nations; North and South Korea. In North Korea Buddhism, Chondogyo, Shamanism and Christianity is the official and biggest religions compared to South Korea whose major religions are ; Buddhism, Christianity, Shamanism and Confucianism.  Yet these religions with exception of Christianity is based upon a patriarchal world order. I believe that is more of an explanation and not an excuse for these countries recent status of their women. Please do not be to judgemental now because as you may or may not know I am an Asian adoptee myself and if you say anything downgrading or critical you are free to do so. But remember as I am one myself I am trying to be objective here…

The problem with these nations are at least too me the inability and difficulty to allow single women with children to raise their children on their own. Previously these children was very often given up for adoption or raised in orphanages and in many cases the mother should be blamed since she too became a victim of the system. I do not in any way blame my parents I never have despite of what people may think… The truth is of course that it may be somewhat difficult at times especially when looking back but I prefer not do that as that would not lead to anything good. The only  focus on the now and the future. The past will always be the past no matter what but people and society goes through the same changes. That is a part of life. I am very thankful to my family and happy to know that I now can consider myself a part of two families…

June 6th (Stureby murder)

August 2th (Vollsjö)

August 6th (Sparsör)

December 31th (Hällbo)

Above is a list of a few dates and place names, which all unfortunatly are associated with a young girl’s last days. The date tells when each girl life was taken. As I intend too keep my promise I will not mention any names this time nor pictures. What has happened to the world? I am almost sure that even if these dates will be associated with death I also know that people somewhere dies… And in the US for example this list would probably be even longer…

Opposites attracts. Kim Min Hee from She is NineTeen has the leading role as Lee Kang Hyun. Kim Ji Hoon is the male counterpart and has acted in Empress Chun Chu. What is special about this drama but far from unique is the fact that Lee Kang Hyun is working at a match – making company. The plot sort of resembles the Wedding Planner and also the movie Intolerable Cruelty. Destiny matches her with Park Hyun So a man totally opposite from her. This drama is fun and a real chich flick and feel good movie. I really do recommend it.

Never thought it actually could happen? Looks like it finally has since a Swedish police officer has been arrested under suspicion of prostitution and similar crimes. The Swedish police department is apparently shocked, disappointed and relieved. He was actually known for his fight for equity and increasing women’s security yet he was known under the infamous name of Captain Dress or Kapten Klänning.

I honestly do not know what too say, reality never stops to surprise me…

Apparently it is also documented that there are many but every police officer that have discriminating attitude towards women…

Why is that American music is supposed to be the best? Is it because it truly is or is it due to the fact that English is the first official language?

to become a parent?

In Sweden there are so far possible to become a parent through ordinary foreign adoption but also by regular IVF - treatments, egg or sperm donation. The rules that has not been allowed as far as I know is surrogate mother and embryo adoption (which means that you “adopt” an already fertilized egg and then transplant it into your own body.

Why has it not been allowed?

For starters if it would be possible it requires a law change in such a way that the clause about anonymity for the biological parents are erased. This is something I imagine that most people actually prefer is left unchanged. The later is allowed and practiced in India which is widely known.

Personally I find this thought scary I cannot say exactly why though I just do.. What do you think of the possibility of legally adopt someone else’s embryo and then carry it to full term yourself ?

I personally think it is wrong and stealing, no woman should be forced to abandon their child and in this case unborn babies. It is really sad I think that poor women are encouraged to become pregnant with a child that they never will be able to care for. In my eyes having children through embryo adoption seems to me to be a very selfish think. I think it almost is equivalent to a crime.. but remember that is just how I feel.

Besides this I think it is morally wrong since wealthy Westerners seems to believe that money trully can by everything sometimes even children and maybe even love. I think it is really sad what these poor women are forced to go through in order to just make it through the day and provide for their family…

But then again I think all people have choice , just make sure that you really understand the decision that you no matter if you are against or in favor of something…
